I originally studied in Scotland, and had an early career in science and technology marketing. Jewellery was the family business, so I later went on to study Gemmology at the Gemmological Institute of Great Britain in Hatton Garden, London. I became a Fellow of the Association, testing gems and providing Insurance and Probate Valuations for private clients.
I wanted to set the gem stones I was colllecting in jewellery, rather than have them sitting as specimens in a box and so more recently I have studied Silversmithing and Jewellery Design at the Sir John Cass School of Art, Architecture & Design in London's vibrant East End, completing my degree with a Distinction. The use of natural organic elements is the connecting thread that runs through my work.
I am the 2018 Winner of the London Worshipful Company of Horners Scholarship Award.
